1) Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Every Houstonian knows about HLSR but if you’ve never been, it’s a must. This is a place where you can find anything deep-fried. It’s a 2 1/5 week event that goes on in March and has great concerts, arcade games and rides,great food, petting zoos and bull riding.

2) Rediscover Downtown.

Over the last few years, Downtown has been revamped. There’s plenty to hear and see. Catch a free show at the Miller Outdoor Theater, check out the Houston Symphony or Ballet and much more. Not to mention the family-friendly parks like Discovery Green but also explore the food, drink and nightlife scene.

3) Kayak Buffalo Bayou.

Bayous used to be thought of as one thing – GROSS. Nowadays, there are parks, bike trails and beautiful scenery built all around them. Buffalo Bayou

4) Tailgate

6) Critical Mass

Thousands gather on the last Friday of every month for a chill bike ride around the streets of downtown. The rides typically start at 7pm and ends

8) Bats at Waugh Bridge

Almost every day at around sunset, hundreds of thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats gush out from under the Waugh bridge. It’s definitely a must see.
